VASER Liposuction

Liposuction has several benefits but is mainly known for its quick fat loss. VASER Liposuction performs with minimum downtime, speedy recovery, minimum trauma, blood loss, and scarring. Results are quickly noticeable and could be permanent by following a healthy lifestyle.

What is VASER liposuction?

Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance, otherwise known as VASER liposuction, is a procedure in which unwanted fat is extracted from your body. Many patients use VASER liposuction to treat areas where it is difficult to lose weight.

In addition, VASER can also treat various conditions like lymphedema and Gynecomastia by using ultrasound waves to break up and liquefy fat cells before being effortlessly extracted manually.

Do you qualify for a Liposuction procedure?

In a general setting, anyone can qualify for VASER liposuction. However, we recommend you abide by a healthy diet and regular exercise leading up to and after the procedure.

Furthermore, we recommend that you be close to your ideal weight (up to 30% of your ideal weight) and have your skin in good condition (maintains elasticity). You will also benefit from having a good muscle tone or are willing to improve it before and after your treatment.

Lastly, maintaining good general health will increase your chances of a smoother and more permanent operation.

What are the advantages of VASER Lipo?

The advantages of this treatment are reducing fat in the body and revealing muscle tone. In addition, compared to traditional Liposuction, the recovery time for VASER liposuction is much faster, allowing for less scarring residue and requiring much fewer invasive incisions.

Most importantly, VASER Liposuction does not require any stitching following the procedure. Moreover, VASER Liposuction is more versatile than traditional Liposuction allowing for the removal of fat in many otherwise prohibited areas. Also, VASER liposuction is safer than legacy liposuction as the breakdown of fat using ultralight is much less likely to cause damage to nearby blood vessels and nerves.

What should you do post Liposuction surgery?

After your procedure, you will typically return home within the same day. In addition, aftercare is included in your treatment package, meaning follow-up appointments are common to track your progression. Our surgeons can treat any immediate complications with no additional charge. In other words, Liposuction is simply the most reliable treatment if you are looking for a permanent solution.

Above all, we recommend you take a few days to a week off of work to recover, but your doctor will give the exact time post-surgery. After which, your doctor will provide you with compression clothing that you must wear for six to eight weeks to help reshape your body.

It is normal to experience swelling in the wounded area for five to six weeks. Furthermore, you may notice some leaking fluid leaving the wounded area soon after your operation. The secreted fluid is a perfectly normal part of the recovery, so there is no need to worry.

Finally, It would help if you avoided all exercise for two to three weeks.

What are the side effects of VASER Liposuction?

Figure abnormalities - In very few cases, if liposuction is done incorrectly or in excess, your skin may become bumpy and uneven, have poor elasticity, heal adversely or have a spotted appearance. These can be permanent changes.

Accumulation of fluid - Fluid masses or seromas can temporarily form under the skin layer. Your physician can treat seromas by draining them manually using a needle.

Kidney and heart problems - Removed fat contains a lot of fluid. Fluid is injected before the procedure to combat this. However, there may still be a fluid imbalance. Shifts in fluid levels can cause potentially life-threatening kidney, heart and lung problems.

Lidocaine toxicity - Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic injected during liposuction to help manage pain. Although generally safe, lidocaine overdose can occur in rare circumstances, causing severe heart and central nervous system problems.

Internal puncture - If a VASER probe is inserted too deep, it may puncture an internal organ. A puncture is very rare and relies on the expertise of the surgeon.

Anaesthetic reaction - Reactions are certainly the most dangerous of all immediate side effects with surgical procedures in general. The symptoms following a reaction vary between patients but include a rash, hives, severe itchiness, swelling, drop in blood pressure, shortness of breath, coughing, etc. Fortunately, reacting to anaesthesia is extremely rare and largely preventable.

Scarring - Scarring is common in any surgical procedure. Though there are measures to avoid or minimise scarring during and after your surgery, some scarring is unavoidable for VASER liposuction. In addition, the amount of scarring will depend on the skill of your surgeon. Thankfully, our expert surgeons' focal point is to keep scarring to a minimum.
